Pastor Lisa Arrington
Lead Pastor for Mission
Born and raised in Ohio, Pastor Lisa graduated from Trinity Lutheran Seminary 2000 and pursued a Doctor of Ministry from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago in 2007. Pastor Lisa has a passion for preaching, creative worship, invitational ministry, and community outreach that involves hands and hearts. Her hobbies include walking, reading, baseball, and visiting family in Ohio, Tennessee, and Maryland. Pastor Lisa is married to Noel who graduated from Towson University. Noel has 2 adult children: Allison, who lives in NYC, and Jonathan, who lives in Baltimore. Ask them about their pet “Mr. Zimmerman”!
Pastor Siegfried Otto
Pastor of Visitation
Pastor Otto was born in Liegnitz, Silesia (now Poland) and studied theology in Bavaria, Germany. He served 3 congregations in Canada and worked as a port chaplain in Toronto, Halifax and Montreal then served as pastor of Zion Church in Baltimore before coming to St John’s in 1999 as our Minister of Pastoral Care. Pastor Otto has been married to his wife Bärbel since 1960. They have 2 daughters, 2 sons, and 5 grandchildren. In his younger years, he liked scuba diving but now he enjoys gardening and collecting junk, hoping to find a new use for it. Interpreting every phenomenon in a theological dimension seems to be his obsession, which he will admit sometimes gets him into trouble!
Director of Young Discipleship
Jeremy began at St. Johns Director of Youth and Family Ministries for 7 years before becoming the Director of Young Discipleship in 2017. He is currently attending Fuller Seminary to earn a M.Div. with a focus in youth and culture. Jeremy’s passion in ministry is helping young people find their identity as being loved children of God and then helping them figure out how to use their gifts and passions to serve God and others. When not with students, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his wife Sam, eating mexican food, watching movies and engaging in non-competitive beard growing.
Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Megan was born and raised in Baltimore and currently lives in the Parkville area with her husband Chris, and two boys, Camden and Austin. She graduated in 2011 from Towson University with a Master’s Degree in Child Life Administration and Family Collaboration. She is a Certified Child Life Specialist and has worked at the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital, as an Assistant Director of a child development center on base at Fort Meade, and as an accommodations advocate for a local testing company. Megan’s passion for ministry is to promote developmental and spiritual growth through storytelling, play and positive interaction with peers.
Director of Traditional Music and Organist
Mike is Director of Music and Organist for Traditional Worship. His passion is finding ways to use music to enhance and enrich the worship of God, and helping others use their musical gifts to do the same. Mike graduated from Towson University, earning a BS degree in Music Education with organ as the applied instrument. Fully German on his mother’s side, Mike’s favorite food is sauerbraten, although he doesn’t indulge in this dish too often! Mike began his service at St. John’s in 1975.
Laurie Krieger came to St. John’s on October of 2012 after 31 years at Verizon. In her free time she enjoys reading and watching tv, especially crime dramas. She also really loves animals. Laurie is very involved with St. John’s in Parkville where she serves as the chair of the hospitality and fellowship committee. She also is a part of the alter guild, eucharistic ministers, vicar care committee and women’s Bible study.
Julie grew up in the Gardenville area of NE Baltimore City and currently lives in Perry Hall with her husband Dale Jr. and daughter Emily. Julie is a member of Zion Lutheran Church of the City of Baltimore and Dale is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Parkville. Before they were even dating, Julie and Dale were involved with the Young Adult Group here at St. John’s in Sweet Air. You’ll find that Julie is passionate about enjoying the simple pleasures in life which include watching Emily grow. She was previously employed by BGE/Constellation Energy where she worked for 20 years.
Randy came to St. John’s after St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Timonium closed. His first week was baptism by the fire of the enormous Country Day Fair. Thankfully, He survived and continues to help us to thrive. Here at St. John’s, Randy cares for our campus inside and out. He works closely with property volunteers; sets up for events; completes routine cleaning; and welcomes various repair professionals when needed. Randy is a member of Mt. Pisgah CME church on Fulton Avenue, Baltimore City. Did you know Mt. Pisgah is the mountain from which Moses viewed the promised land (Deuteronomy 3:27) and CME stands for Christian Methodist Episcopal? Randy leads Sunday School and have been a big brother in mentoring and coaching.
