Children’s Choir

The Children’s Choir, under the direction of Gail Southern, is open to all children from second grade through sixth grade. The choir generally sings on the fourth Sunday of each month, from October to May, in the 9:30 am Bridge Service as part of “Sunday School in Worship,” as well as for some special services. Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings from 9:00 – 9:30 am in the choir room. Children may simply show up for rehearsal to join the choir!

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir at St. John’s (we’re haven’t come up with a more exciting name!) currently plays four octaves of handbells and three octaves of handchimes at an intermediate level. We can always use interested people as substitutes, as replacements, and, if feasible, to expand our choir. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings, starting at 7:45 P.M., generally from the beginning of September until June. By and large, we play once a month at the 8:15 and 11 A.M. services, as well as for special occasions like Christmas Eve and the combined services. Occasionally, some ringers may add to the worship experience by accompanying the Jubilee Singers, playing hymns or preludes, or as a smaller ensemble. With sufficient interest, we might be able to start a “beginning” level choir, for children and/or adults.

Jubilee Singers

The Jubilee Singers of St. John’s, under the direction of Mike Chambers, is open to singers from senior high age through adulthood. This choir sings at one of the traditional worship services (8:15/11:00) most Sundays from September through June, as well as most special services. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings at 7:45 pm in the Choir Room.

We’re always looking for new voices to add to the choir and would love to reserve a space for you in the choir alcove on Sunday mornings!

Praise4Him Team

Our Bridge Worship Service has seen many changes this year. We've grown!! How God continues to bless St. John's! We are enjoying the recent addition of many new voices and instrumentalists to the Bridge Worship Team. So the Team decided we should change our team name from "Voices of Praise" to a new name that would represent the whole team. After much thought the team chose "Praise4Him" as our new name! Oh, and one more change this year-- for those of you who have not yet met me, “Hi, my name is Lea Ann Mainster and I am the new Contemporary Worship Leader. Please join us at 9:30 AM each Sunday at the “Bridge Service”as we lift our Praise4Him!!
