Theme of the Day Today we are actually introducing Advent with ELW setting 10 for Traditional Worship. Advent is a season of anticipation. We have the tree, animals gathering and the prophets helping us prepare. we hear Isaiah 5:1-15. We continue in the prophetic book of Isaiah Kings for the Act 4 Israel is pictured as a vineyard. Theme of the Day Today we hear Hosea 11:1-9 We continue in the historic book of Kings for the Act 4 Israel and the prophets. God’s passionate love for his children despite their disobedience he cannot give them up. Hosea the prophet, reminds us people continue to disregard God. God grieves like a parent. Theme of the Day Today we hear 1 Kings 11:26-40 Rebellion in the section of the Bible on “Israel.” The kingdom of Israel is divided after Solomon becomes king. King Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, is made King. Jeroboam returns as well to report the people are weary of labor, government and taxes.
